Sure Velma has her career and Johnny is a professional lady-killer, but I can totally see them make their relationship work
Now before you say, "Whoa, random!" I'd like you to remember that:
1. They were in an episode of Johnny's cartoon "Johnny Bravo" together.
- [link] A great episode. Johnny chases Daphne at first, but Velma is sweet on him.
2. They were featured as a couple in 2 Cartoon Network promos - [link] [link]
- Johnny is smitten with her, she's in love with him. I know they can make it work.
Thing is, Johnny is a Mama's boy. We know this about his character. And up walks Velma, who reminds me of his mother Bunnie in a few ways. That slightly shy, but forceful personality. Not entirely confident in her looks, but confident about everything else self-esteem. Her tender and sweet side, understanding and loving. All the things our rockabilly/greaser needs.
And for Velma, well for all the trouble she gets in it'd be nice to have someone who doesn't back down or run away from a fight. Someone who will fight for her honor, even if she is more than capable of looking out for herself
They really give off this 1950s/Grease vibe. She's the adventurous bookworm and he's the sensitive macho type. Match made in the old world of Cartoon Network (back when the closest thing to live action was Space Ghost Coast to Coast).
*Don't know about this new Scooby-Doo series with real ghosts and Shaggy x Velma pair. Far as I'm concerned that's an AU. I'm concerned with the original Velma and her crossover love affair with Johnny Bravo.*
